.... for the youth is overrated. We all know those days at the start of a new story when the world seems to revolve around one person, everything seems wonderful, na na na ...etc.etc. There's nothing strange or wonderful about it. Happens to everyone, right?
But for romance to continue even after years of marriage, to linger even in the days when your kids have long left their homes, to still have that togetherness, to still retain that 'us against the world' and 'i'll be there for you' spark, to still be as much in love with your partner as you were 50 years ago, perhaps more, that is romance. We smirk at the grannies and gran'pas holding hands, we smile when they tell us their story, we think its strange when they actively express their love, but in this new-age world, with its splintering marriages and quick divorces, truly having a 'love of your life' is something only they can show us.

- P.G. Wodehouse- nothing gets me rofl faster.
- Oscar Wilde - love his twisted short stories, although i think the anecdotes about him are funnier. The insults are wicked.
- Gerald Durrell- I just read 'My Family and Other Animals' and I think it's hysterical. Plus, it has some really beautiful descriptions of nature. Gotta check out his series in westland.

- Frederick Forsyth- No One blurs the line between fact and fiction so well.
